doctor visits

Oliver's 9 month checkup was a couple weeks ago. He weighed in at 17 lbs 2 oz and 27 1/2 inches tall. He was busy wiggling all over the place, and it was hard to get him to sit still for the appointment. His weight put him in the 5th percentile for his age, but the pediatrician said he is no longer worried about Oliver's size because he has always trended on the small side even after I started to supplement with a little formula. He also mentioned that Oliver is probably burning way more calories than other babies his age because he is so "busy" and active.

I brought Nate with me to Oliver's checkup to have the doctor look at this interesting rash Nate was starting to get along his stomach. Turns out to be shingles (ouch!). We have been laying low around here keeping Oliver away from other babies and the church nursery in case he has the chickenpox virus. (Shingles is part of the chickenpox family).

Along with the shingles, Nate made a visit to the ER that week because of a gallbladder attack. He has to have surgery this Monday to have it removed. My poor husband! So between meeting with the surgeon and other doctors appointments we have been pretty preoccupied.
