BIG TIME.
We are only part way into the series and I feel like the hard edges of my heart are softening up a bit. It is a good thing. Last weeks message gave me a chance to think about how I treat others, or view them. I totally admit that there are times when I am frustrated, irritated, annoyed, hurt, or calloused at others. It happens at work, home, driving on the freeway. It is everywhere. I may not always show it, but I get angry and a little bitter sometimes inside. If I feel disrespected, it is hard for me to respect and love others back.
My husband rarely sees the best side of me. I love to blame my grumpiness on lack of sleep and having to work nights. But I don't want to be that person, the one who is too tired to live life, but more importantly live a life filled with love. I want to be busting at the seems with love, and give it freely and unconditionally.
A friend of mine was sharing with me her goal of praying everyday to help her to see her spouse (and others) the way God sees us. Can you imagine? Praying everyday that I would view Nate and treat him the way God seems him? Obviously, I love Nate deeply! But, do I always show it?
If I take an honest look, the answer is-no.
Ouch.
So, this is something I'm working on. Here is a bit more to consider:
What if you could stand at the end of your life and look back
What did you acquire?
What goals did you accomplish?
What dreams did you achieve?
What if you...
Acquired great things
Accomplished great goals
And achieved great dreams
But what if none of it mattered?
That’s what a life void of love looks like
Jesus said:
That in all of life one thing matters most: LOVE
You may have a busy life
An ordered life
A balanced life
A respected life
An influential life
But without love….it is a wasted life.
So…do you love?
Do you love as God loves you?
Do you love everyone as God loves you?
Friends,
classmates,
supervisor,
employees,
children,
spouse,
neighbors,
competition?
Your enemies?
There is only one way to love the way God loves you
Draw from the source of love.
Here's the key to loving others:
Begin to grasp Gods love for you

Hi Kerri!
I got sooo excited when I saw your comment on my blog! Your blog is so cute and your pictures are awesome! I'm always amazed when someone self-teaches themselves SO WELL. I had to spend lots of money and take lots of classes to learn the little I know. :) I love this post too, and as far as I'm concerned- you've got it down. You were such an amazing nurse to us!!! We LOVED you and I have to be honest, there have been many times since bringing Gemma home that I wish I could have brought you home too!
